Chamberlain to preview two new products at IDA Expo – Jan. 29th, 2008

January 29th, 2008

Chamberlain Professional Products will offer previews of two new LiftMaster commercial door operator products at the International Garage Door Exposition, April 25-26, in Las Vegas.

The new LiftMaster Medium-Duty Gear-reduced Operator with Hoist (Model MGH) is designed to operate taller doors requiring hoist emergency operation and is an economical choice for applications which do not require the additional power and enhanced features of standard or heavy-duty operators.

“Our dealers can now offer Model MGH for applications requiring a moderately-priced gear-reduced operator with an emergency manual hoist,” says Randy Planck, director of marketing, commercial products division.

The UL-325 compliant Model MGH from Chamberlain will be offered with either 115VAC ½ or ¾ HP motors and is rated for up to 12 cycles per hour/50 per day. It also features an electrical interlock to prevent door operation when the hoist is engaged, a heavy-duty worm gear reducer, maintenance-free bearings, and an external radio receiver connection.

Model MGH will be available in early summer, 2008.

Select LiftMaster brand Medium-Duty commercial operators will soon be available with Medium-Duty Logic, an integrated circuit control board which features a built-in radio receiver and timer-to-close functionality. This new offering builds on the recent success of the LiftMaster line of Logic 3.0 standard and heavy-duty operators and provides LiftMaster dealers with the broadest and deepest line of solid-state controlled commercial door operators available.

“LiftMaster dealers and their customers will benefit from Medium-Duty Logic, which replaces mechanical relay controls with a much cleaner, easier and more reliable solid-state design that is easy to program,” adds Planck.

The timer-to-close feature provides up to a 60-second programmable delay upon door closure and works in conjunction with Chamberlain’s Commercial Protection System photoelectric safety sensors. Medium-Duty Logic operators will also feature monitored entrapment capability and enhanced surge protection. The units are UL-325 compliant and rated for up to 12 cycles per hour/50 per day.

Medium Duty Logic will be available in early fall, 2008.

The Chamberlain Group Inc. manufactures and markets access-control products including residential garage door openers, commercial door operators, residential and commercial gate operators, telephone entry systems and related access control products.
